Welcome
We’re glad you’re here as we gather for this Tenebrae service.
What is Tenebrae?
“Tenebrae” means darkness. This is a quiet, reflective service that remembers the suffering and death of Jesus as the light gradually fades.
Preparing for Easter
Tonight, we will leave in silence, carrying the weight of the cross as we await the hope of Easter.
Please Note
Kindly silence your phones for the duration of the service
How Great Thou Art
O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the works Thy hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling mighty thunder
Thy power through-out the universe displayed
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And takе me home, what joy shall fill my heart
Then I shall bow in humble adoration
And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
How Deep The Father’s Love For Us
How deep the Father's love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He would give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
How deep the Father's love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He would give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One
Bring many sons to glory
Behold the Man upon a cross
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished
I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no powr, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom
O Praise The Name (Anástasis)
I cast my mind to Calvary
Where Jesus bled and died for me
I see His wounds, His hands, His feet
My Saviour on that cursed tree
O praise the Name of the Lord our God
O praise His Name forevermore
For endless days we will sing Your praise
Oh Lord oh Lord our God
His body bound and drenched in tears
They laid Him down in Joseph's tomb
The entrance sealed by heavy stone
Messiah still and all alone
O praise the Name of the Lord our God
O praise His Name forevermore
For endless days we will sing Your praise
Oh Lord oh Lord our God
Please Note
Please leave in silence to the end of service
